A Richmond man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the vehicular death of 19-year-old Justin Varghese last year. Cedric Adam Mayberry pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Prosecutors say Mayberry was driving at excessive speeds of up to 121 mph when he struck the back of another vehicle at a red light, causing Varghese’s car to strike two more before coming to rest. Mayberry’s sentence sends a message that reckless driving will not be tolerated. He must serve at least half of his sentence before being considered for parole.
