No four day school week

A proposal to switch to a four-day school week next year was voted down 4 to 3 at the recent meeting of the Wharton ISD Board of Trustees. According to the Spectator, the proposal was first made during the January board meeting and was voted on following several people making public comments and a presentation to the board by Deputy Superintendent Denise Ware, who says a survey sent to parents showed 68.9 % in favor and 31 percent not in favor of a four day school week. 91% of the teachers are in favor and 8% are not.
