The Edna Cowboys took care of business Friday night against rivals Columbus Cardinals, and the school is now district champions in both football and basketball. The Cowboys got off to a hot start in the first quarter and was holding the lead heading into halftime 29-21. Edna point guard Mirkel Soto scored half of his 16 points in the 3rd quarter and the Cowboys went on to beat the Cardinals 67 to 50. Edna are the class 3A region 4 district 25 champions.
