The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed two new faces – one a little furrier than the other. Deputy Dakota Smith and K9 Hunter have joined the team and look forward to working in Jackson County. Deputy Smith is an Army veteran who was deployed to the Middle East as a Cavalry Scout. Upon leaving the military,
Smith went to work in the Calhoun County Jail. K9 Hunter is a four year-old Dutch Shepherd.
