The Boys & Girls Club of Bay City and Matagorda County will close its doors on January 27th according to the Tribune. Board members of the club voted 11-2 at a special meeting recently to begin the process of dissolving the organization. There were several factors, including outdated facilities at the club’s location at the old Pierce Elementary, a failure to come to an agreement with Bay City ISD on a shared space model, and the inability to conclude a pending merger opportunity with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.
