A foundation is set to demolish the Luther Hotel on January 16th in Palahcios. The hotel’s owner died without a will, so the Ed Rachal Foundation purchased the property. The foundation told the city council about their intentions to demolish the historic landmark. However, Margaret Doughty leads a group of protesters who think the world of the hotel. Rose Thurlkill grew up in Palacios and says the Luther Hotel is the heart of Palacios. She thinks the demolition would break the heart of the town. They created a petition called “ Save the Luther”.
