Two correctional officers and a deputy suffered minor injuries last week when an El Campo man decided to fight while being booked into the Wharton County Jail. The man, 36-year-old Damion Jermaine Wilkerson remains in jail because of the parole violation and $56,000 in bonds, and now faces three counts of assault of a public servant in addition to the parole violation and warrants for evading arrest with a vehicle (two counts), family violence and criminal mischief. He bit two officers and kicked one in the groin.
