The Los Muertos Festival, held at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds attracted over a thousand people on Saturday, Nov. 5. The Day of the Dead is a holiday customarily celebrated on Nov. 1-2. Originally observed
in Mexico, but now has spread to include other places like the United States, especially by people of Mexican heritage. The holiday commemorates the return of deceased relatives and loved ones to Earth to celebrate with their loved ones. The event gives Bay City residents and visitors an opportunity to experience culture, tradition and history.
