Seven students involved in a fight and stabbing incident Oct. 12th at Wharton High School have been expelled. Superintendent Dr. Michael O’Guin Sr says they have 10 days to decide if they want to appeal and any appeal would go directly to the school board. O’Guin was not involved in the hearings held at the high school and says he could not release the names of those expelled. The expulsions presumably include the three 17-year-old students who were arrested at the scene. There were originally eight students investigated but there was
not enough evidence to proceed with the eighth student. According to Wharton Police Case Agent Jason
Barker, “more arrests are expected in the next couple days.”
