Matagorda County Commissioners approved a declaration of disaster for the county pertaining to border security during Monday’s regular meeting — In an effort to secure additional funding from the state of Texas. Precinct 4 Constable David Myles brought the item to the court after asking the court’s approval for his department to request a grant for border security issues — in order to stop the flow of drugs and crimes dealing with border security in the county.
