The Wharton County Sheriff’s office says Over the course of the last several months, numerous traffic stops involving Human Smuggling have been made in Wharton County. Intelligence gathered by the Wharton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit linked the stops to a stash house holding undocumented aliens in Cameron County. The intelligence was shared with Homeland Security Investigations and Border Patrol. HSI/BP verified the information, and they executed a search warrant on the stash house. Several undocumented aliens were discovered in the stash house. This is an example of excellent cooperation between local and federal authorities.
