The El Campo City Council last week honored John Leal as the 2022 Employee of the Year. He was hired in July of 1990 and started as a boom mower operator assigned to cleaning ditches. Now his title is “CDL licensed equipment operator 1.” His main job is to clean up El Campo streets, as the operator of the city’s street sweeper.
