A mechanical failure was determined to be the cause of this truck fire Monday at Wharton Ford on North Richmond Road. The Wharton Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to the fire at approximately 2:25 p.m. Meanwhile, Wharton Police officers, already on the scene, discovered the truck was 75% involved in fire and it was spreading to a nearby building.
